KIHOHE Foundation implements community-driven programs designed to strengthen livelihoods, promote inclusive growth, and build knowledge-based societies. Our thematic areas focus on practical skills, economic empowerment, and long-term sustainability, ensuring that individuals and families can thrive using locally available resources.

1. Livelihoods & Entrepreneurship

We support sustainable income generation by strengthening local economies and promoting self-reliance at the household and community levels. Our initiatives include:

  • Establishment of Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) to improve financial inclusion and access to capital.
  • Microenterprise incubation based on locally available skills such as tailoring, carpentry, farming, baking, crafts, bicycle and car mechanics, machine assembling, and related trades.
  • Agribusiness training and small-scale processing, focusing on value addition using locally grown crops to increase income and reduce post-harvest losses.
  • Promotion of smart modern agricultural projects implemented at the family level to enhance food security and household income.

2. Youth & Women Empowerment

Recognizing youth and women as key drivers of community development, KIHOHE Foundation prioritizes programs that build confidence, leadership, and economic independence. These include:

  • Entrepreneurship and life skills training to enhance employability and self-employment opportunities.
  • Support for women-led cooperatives and youth-driven innovations that respond to local challenges.
  • Mentorship and leadership development programs that nurture responsible, informed, and active community leaders.

3. Education & Knowledge Development

Education remains a cornerstone of sustainable development. Through inclusive learning initiatives, we aim to expand access to knowledge and skills for all community members. Our programs include:

  • Establishment of community libraries and digital learning hubs to promote literacy and access to information.
  • School support programs, including scholarships, learning materials, and school uniforms for vulnerable students.
  • Skills transfer workshops led by local artisans, professionals, and community elders to preserve indigenous knowledge and promote practical learning.

Through these programs and thematic areas, KIHOHE Foundation continues to empower communities to become resilient, innovative, and self-sustaining—laying the foundation for inclusive and lasting development.
